If you are posting a
non-testimony, such as a prayer request, your message will be sent only to list members
and intercessors. It will not be viewable on the web, because it probably will not contain
any educational / teaching material that would be of interest to the general public.
However, if you have a
really good testimony, we want to hear it! And if you can write your testimony pretty
good, we will post it to the whole wide world so that Jesus will get the glory! We have
here a few helpful tips that will help you to write a good testimony.
Remember that you are
writing this testimony to people who also may be suffering from the same sickness that you
have just been healed from. They may be in terrific pain. So do your best to write your
testimony in a way that is inspirational, and uplifting, and in a way that would help
those who are trying to have more faith to believe that if God did it for you, he will do
it for them too! Don't worry if you are not a good writer, just do your best, and our
editors will sharpen it up! Try to avoid addressing the audience
with phrases such as "dear reader" or "ladies and gentlemen" or
"Hello, my name is...", just write it like you would write a story or a novel.
Consider starting from the
very beginning: maybe where you first realized you were sick, or perhaps the moment the
doctor first told you the word "cancer". Write it like you would write a novel
or a storybook, long and full of emotion. Don't be afraid to write a long testimony! Your
testimony should look more like a story of your life than just a few sentences to announce
that you've been healed. Make it a masterpiece, a work of art! Share your difficulties and any area where you suffered from the
sickness or pain. The better and more colorful your descriptions, the more interesting it
will be, and the better it will build the faith of others! You might want to describe what
your life was like prior to the sickness, so that the readers will be better able to
understand the difficulties you faced, and what the illness did to you.
Be sure to include key
moments. If you were sick for years, be sure to include the most memorable moments.
Memorable moments may be times when your sickness got worse, or complications with
surgery, or freak accidents that left you confused and wondering if God had forsaken you.
Don't be afraid to share moments when you had trouble holding onto your faith for your
healing, or times when you really wondered if there was a God. Describe those areas of
doubt or fear, because showing others that you were healed even though you did
not have perfect faith will really help others to believe that God can heal them too!
Describe the build-up to
the time of your healing. Any divine appointments or moments where you really know God was
at work to get you into the right place to receive your healing. Describe anything of
importance the days prior to your healing.
Describe the day of your
healing, starting from just before the healing, and then the healing itself in all it's
glorious details, and then the moments following. If someone prayed for you, you are
welcome to not only mention that person, but also feel free to describe what your opinion
of that person was before and after your healing. This will be an enjoyment to all those
in the healing ministry to read!
Describe the reaction you
received from family, friends and doctors. Don't be afraid if they did not believe, for
that's very common. Make this part interesting and funny, rather than critical.
Let us know how you are
doing right now and how you've been since the time of your healing!
Finish your testimony by
writing your First and Last name. If you live in the United States, let us know the state
that you are from. If another country, let us know which country. Avoid including your
email or contact information, but you are welcome to mention your church that you attend.
If you have any really good portrate pictures of yourself, you may include those, but you don't have to. Make sure any pictures you include are no bigger than 300 width by 400 height, and of an acceptable quality. If you don't have a scanner, you can mail us your picture and we will put it up for you! If you have a scanner, but you don't think the quality of your picture is very good, send it it our pro editors at aaron@behealed.net and we will edit your picture and make it good enough for display!
Please be aware that there
are certain types of sickness and diseases that you may want to avoid using descriptions
that would include inappropriate words or details. We moderate all posts, and we may
change some of the wording or make small adjustments to the description to avoid anything
unseemly to our readers.
